  • Solid Hardwood
  • Made in the USA
  • Hand-Built

This item is made to order and ships in 10–12 weeks.

All James & James items are made to order, customized to the specifications you select. Crafted from solid hardwood, our furniture is built for everyday use and ready to become your next heirloom.  Every piece is hand-finished in the color of your choosing, then sealed with a polyurethane finish to further protect the surface.

The length, width, and height of your table are custom to the dimensions you choose above. That’s the beauty of James & James!

Notes:

Crafted from Knotty Alder Hardwood, this dining table boasts natural grains and filled knots to create a smooth surface.

This tabletop is 1.75” thick with a 3.5” apron (frame of the table). To arrive at the clearance underneath the apron, subtract approx. 5.25” from the table height you select.

To arrive at the distance between legs, subtract 14” from the total length selected.

Disclaimer:

Please note that each measurement is an approximation, as these pieces are hand-built. We allow for up to 1" in variation to accommodate the unique nature of handcrafted furniture.

Knots on surface areas are filled by our carpenters, ensuring a smooth surface that's easy to clean, while all other knots are left open and natural. For daily care, we recommend using water and any cleaning product safe for wood surfaces. Avoid abrasive cleaners and harsh chemicals as it will deteriorate the finish and could cause damage. Remember to use a trivet or coaster for items too hot to touch.

We strongly believe that your delivery experience should match the quality of our product. All James & James orders ship with White Glove delivery as we are committed to providing the most premium delivery experience.

Please review our Shipping Policy page for additional details.

Why Knotty Alder hardwood?

  • Alder is a type of wood frequently used in furniture making. It’s highly valued for its workability, as it provides an ideal surface for turning, isn’t likely to split, and can be safely drilled into without pre-drilled holes.
  • Knotty alder is a descriptive term, used to designate alder boards that feature a more pronounced grain pattern and visible knots. This visual patterning is ideal for tabletops and benches, as the knots lend a distinct, rustic feel to the finished piece.

What does turned legs mean in furniture?

  • Turning is a woodworking technique wherein a piece of wood is secured to a lathe and hand-carved as it rotates. Turned legs are legs that were made by turning—they’re a desirable, hand-crafted feature, and add a considerable amount of value to any custom wood furniture piece.
  • If you’re interested in seeing it for yourself, why not come visit our workshop here in Springdale, Arkansas? Our artisans will be happy to show you how it works.

What size table do you need for 12 people?

  • The minimum dimensions required to comfortably seat twelve people change depending upon the shape of the table. Our square 12-person table, for instance, measures approximately 84” x 84”.
  • If you’d like to order a rectangular 12-person dining room table, we recommend dimensions of around 96” x 48”. 12-seater dining tables are a worthwhile investment, but it’s important to choose the right builder. James+James will help you create a dining table for 12 that fits your vision (and your space) perfectly.
